Artist's Comments

The finished product in full color. I've decided to make this part of the Steve Irwin Project that is being put together by Tia. See her page for more info.

I originally had all of the description on the pencil version of the piece but I'll also include a link to it here. So please read to get all the symbolism.

Media:
Prismacolor, Fabercastell, and Derwent pencils.
Supracolor metallic gold pencil.
Boldmere Sketch Pad: A4 90 gsm.

Wow - really remarkable. It came out great in color. It's a very lovely testament to your insanity. ;)

Dude. Are those knotwork trilobites?
:iconleopreston:
Wow, it always strikes me how much detail and time must go into your pieces. This is wonderful! :)

Wow, that's awesome! Beautiful knotwork, especially with the animal knots. This would look SO very cool carved into wood. My wife's gonna squee when I show her this. ;)

And I saw the trils too! Nice little prehistoric touch there. ;P

I think it's because I'm masochistic, or I have a lot of hubris.

And a pencil sharpener that I should appreciate more than I do.

Thanks! =D

I know, it truly is a showcase of mental disturbance. The "best part" is, that after all that coloring with pencils breaking left and right as I sharpened them, my favorite part is the dragon circle with the wood character. Nothing else. What a gip. ;)

YES! I couldn't resist doing them, I had done them in a prior piece but they're trilobites and they rule. =D

Thanks. =)

Yeah I do take an insane amount of time on my pieces, I just simply don't have enough sense and part of it's a challenge too. =) I like to be challenged. And thanks for the fav as well. =D

Thanks. =) Heck, I'd like to see that carved in wood, just to see it, but alas I do not carve wood. =P

Hehe, glad you liked the trilobites, actually all the animals on the outer circle are prehistoric. =)
